Welcome

Our Area

Welcome to the North and East Yorkshire Area of the Royal School of Church Music Website.

We serve an area from Teesside in the North to Humberside in the South. Our western boundary is broadly the A1 road. Our exact area is that of the Anglican York Diocese or the Catholic Middlesbrough Diocese, but we must stress that the RSCM is interdenominational.

Our Area is very large and we have divided it into four Cluster Groups.  Each of these is led by a Group Organizer who organizes and publicises Group events as well as being a close contact for any of your needs.  (Use the link below to check who the organizer is for your area and contact them via our contacts page)

Membership

You are able to become a member of the RSCM by downloading the Membership Form from the National RSCM website via our links page. There are two forms of membership; first the Individual Membership and secondly the Affiliated Membership which enables a Church or a Choir to join.

What sort of services can we offer?

  • We can put you in touch with the right person regarding examinations, qualifications, and financial help with organ lessons etc.

  • If you have a special occasion we have contacts with choirs and professional  organists who could help you.

  • If you are wishing to appoint a church organist or musician we have contacts with professional musicians who could serve as an expert adviser on an interview panel.

  • We are pleased to answer any of your questions or enquiries and we encourage you to make contact with us.  Most of all we want to talk with you by phone to see how we can help you to best effect.

Contact Us - How can we help you?

  • If you need any help or advice please contact our Chair, Chris Cowell or our Secretary Lindy Wainwright by e-mail via our contacts page.  Please give your telephone number so that we are able to phone and talk. If you are a member or a member of an Affiliated Church or Choir please give your membership details in your e-mail.
  • We are prepared to help non-members but in order to off-set our costs a suitable fee will be negotiated after the initial consultation.
